FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Straight answers, before you ask

A few of the questions we hear most often. Don’t see yours? We’re always happy to talk it through.

What does it mean that you’re a fiduciary? +

It means we are obligated to act in your best interest at all times—not merely to recommend what’s “suitable.” A fiduciary puts your goals ahead of our own and is held to a higher standard of care and loyalty in every recommendation we make. It’s the foundation of how we work and the trust our relationships are built on.

What does it cost to meet with you initially? +

Nothing. Your first conversation is complimentary and carries no obligation. It’s simply a chance to get to know one another, talk through your goals, and decide together whether we’re the right fit. If we move forward, we’ll lay out any fees clearly and in writing before you commit to anything.

How do you charge for your services? +

The large majority of our client relationships are fee-only—our compensation comes directly from you, which keeps our guidance aligned with your goals rather than product sales. Depending on your needs, that may be a flat planning fee or an ongoing advisory fee, spelled out plainly and agreed upon up front. We also maintain the capacity to place an insurance product or facilitate a brokerage transaction when it’s genuinely the right fit—but only at your request, and always with full transparency about how we’re paid. We’ll walk through exactly what you’d pay during our first conversation.

Who do you typically work with? +

We partner with individuals and families seeking thoughtful, long-term guidance—often engineers, technical professionals, and business owners navigating retirement, equity compensation, taxes, and generational planning. If you value a structured, analytical approach, you’ll likely feel at home here.

Is there a minimum amount of assets to work together? +

We focus on fit and the value we can provide rather than a strict asset minimum. The best way to know whether we’re a match is a short, no-obligation conversation about your situation and what you’re hoping to accomplish.

What happens in a first conversation? +

It’s a relaxed, no-pressure discussion. We listen first—learning about your goals, concerns, and what matters most—then talk through how we might help and what working together would look like. There’s no obligation to move forward.

How often will we meet once we’re working together? +

As often as your plan calls for. Many clients meet a few times a year, with additional check-ins around major life events or decisions. Because life evolves, we monitor, refine, and adapt your plan on an ongoing basis—you’re never left to figure things out alone.

Do you only manage investments? +

No—investments are only one part of the equation. We help coordinate retirement, taxes, estate and generational planning, insurance and risk, executive compensation, and business owner considerations into one cohesive plan built around your life.

What’s the difference between a financial advisor and a financial planner? +

The terms overlap, but the distinction matters. “Financial advisor” is a broad label that often centers on managing investments. Financial planning is wider in scope—mapping how your retirement, taxes, insurance, estate, and goals fit together over time. Our work is rooted in planning first, with investment management as one piece of a larger, coordinated strategy.

Is working with a financial advisor really worth it? +

For many people, yes—though the value goes beyond investment returns. A good advisor helps you avoid costly mistakes, coordinate taxes and risk, stay disciplined through market swings, and make confident decisions at major life transitions. The right relationship should feel like clarity and time given back to you, not just another expense.

How do I know if I have enough to retire? +

It depends on more than a single number—your spending, timeline, income sources, taxes, and the lifestyle you envision all factor in. Rather than relying on rules of thumb, we model your specific situation so you can see, in clear terms, whether you’re on track and what adjustments could strengthen your position.

Do we need to meet in person, or can we work together remotely? +

Both work well. We’re based in Gilbert, Arizona and welcome in-person meetings, but many clients prefer the convenience of secure video and phone calls. We’ll meet you whichever way fits your life—and we work with clients beyond Arizona, too.

Still have a question?

We’d be glad to answer it. Reach out and we’ll point you in the right direction—no obligation.
